Why join?

Are you interested in history? Are you fascinated by how people lived and worked in the past? Does the preservation of our past matter to you? When you become a member of the Georgina Historical Society, a not for profit charitable organization, your involvement will support our efforts to collect, preserve, and maintain artifacts, documents, and images relating to the history and heritage of Georgina. We also support the Georgina Pioneer Village and Archives as an educational medium and actively assist in its operations and maintenance. We have been an active voice regarding the preservation and maintenance of heritage sites and are currently involved with a restoration project of the caboose in the pioneer village. Membership participation and input in these activities is invaluable. As a member, your voice, opinion, care, and concern become part of a respected resource for the preservation of Georgina’s past as well
as a conscientious voice for shaping the future of your community.

What do I do to join?

You may renew your membership if it has expired by contacting a Board member or by completing the membership form using the link below. Join with us and participate in preserving and promoting your community’s heritage!

  • A vote and voice at our Annual General Meeting in November
  • Regular general meetings with interesting guest speakers and/or activities
  • Notices of special event supported or sponsored by the GHS

Membership Fees and Information

Our current annual fee for full membership is $20.00.

As of January 1 st , 2020, your Board has introduced a non-voting Student membership for a fee of $10.00 available for any student in the public or separate school systems, or for post-secondary students presenting a current valid student card from a post-secondary educational institution.

Please note, Honorary Memberships are non-voting and do not entitle participation in holding office unless a regular membership is held.

Current members are reminded memberships are due for renewal for the calendar year 2020. Annual membership are from January 1 st to December 31 st . New members and
renewals should check below for fees and further information.

Attendance at Georgina Farmers Market

We will have a booth at the Georgina Farmers Market on Sunday June 8, 2025 and Sunday July 13, 2025.  We'll be sharing some historical photographs and artifacts.  Volunteers to help out at the booth are welcome!  Or just drop by for a visit - we'd love to see you. 

Mann Cemetery Signage Update

Pioneer Village Museum – Rebrand

New signage will be replacing the Georgina Pioneer Village signs to read Georgina Village Museum to reflect its newer mandate.  A new logo has been designed, shown below, that features the Noble House.
